A Van Nuys car accident involving a sports car claims the lives of four people after the driver loses control. The car was found upside down on top of a set of railroad tracks. The incident took place just after midnight on Thursday morning, May 6, 2010, on Roscoe Boulevard.
According to Los Angeles police, the accident occurred on Roscoe Boulevard near Havenhurst Avenue when the driver lost control of his sports car. The vehicle was heading westbound on Roscoe Blvd when the car crashed and skidded across a set of railroad tracks coming to a stop upside down.
The body of the driver was found pinned inside the vehicle. Rescue crews discovered three other bodies along the road. Police were unable to determine if the three other victims had been passengers in the car or if they were pedestrians. The victims included two males and two females.
Police were unclear as to what caused the accident or if any other vehicles were involved. They are investigating a report that a motorcycle might have been involved in the fatal accident.
“There is no indication of another vehicle, but we are still investigating,” said Los Angeles police Lt. John Romero.
The early morning Van Nuys car accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
