Careful riding and the use of bike lanes haven't prevented serious bicycle accident injuries and death in California this summer.
Our California bicycle accident attorneys were saddened to see on KSBW Action 8 News that three accidents have either taken the lives or seriously injured bike riders in Santa Cruz this summer alone.
Noel Hamilton, 31, was killed while riding his black beach cruiser after he was struck and killed by a passing car shortly after 10:00pm. Zachary Parke lost his life while riding on an 8-foot-wide bicycle path when he was also hit by a sedan. Most recently, a 55-year-old woman was clipped by a passing motor home and injured her leg. The motor home driver did not stop to help.
The lawyers at Steinberg Spencer urge bicyclists and drivers alike to be extra cautious in order to prevent bicycle accidents. We extend our sympathies to the families of Noel Hamilton and Zachary Parke, and wish a speedy recovery to the woman who was injured by the motor home.
