Three Children Injured in Oxnard Pedestrian Accident

Posted on Feb 16, 2012

An Oxnard pedestrian accident involving a hit-and-run driver leaves three children injured, one of them in serious condition, after they were struck while walking along a bike path. The incident took place at approximately 7:15 on Saturday evening, February 4, 2012, along Santa Monica Avenue.

According to reports, 50-year-old Joan Aronson was walking along Santa Monica Avenue with her two daughters and their 10-year-old friend when a vehicle jumped the curb and struck the three girls. The two sisters are ages six and eight.

All three girls were injured in the pedestrian accident. The 10-year-old friend was listed in serious condition while the two sisters suffered moderate injuries.

The suspect fled the accident scene. The vehicle has been described as an older silver or gray Honda or Toyota with tinted windows and a missing hubcap. It was unclear if there were any passengers in the vehicle at the time the driver struck the girls.

The Oxnard pedestrian accident remains under investigation by local authorities as they try to locate the hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved in the accident. Police have asked anyone with information concerning the hit-and-run accident to contact them at (805) 477-4100.

This is a terrible incident, and we wish all three young girls a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
