Thousand Oaks Car Accident Leaves One Injured

A Thousand Oaks car accident involving two vehicles leaves one injured and one arrested during a hit-and-run incident. The collision took place at approximately 9:30 PM on Saturday evening, October 9, 2010, at Avenida De Las Arboles near Arcturus Street.

According to reports, a compact car collided with an SUV. The driver of the car has been identified as Danielle Kommemi, 22, of Simi Valley. Ms. Kommemi was treated for minor injuries sustained in the two-vehicle car accident.

When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they discovered one of the vehicles overturned and sitting on its roof.

Police report that the driver of the SUV fled the accident scene on foot. K-9 units for the Ventura County Sherriff’s Department were dispatched to search the area for the fleeing driver.

The driver was eventually tracked down in his Thousand Oaks home. The male driver was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run. He was also taken to a local hospital where he was treated for injuries he may have suffered in the wreck.

The hit-and-run Thousand Oaks car accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
