Posted on Oct 20, 2010A Temecula car accident involving a single vehicle leaves a man in critical condition after a car slams into a local car wash. The incident took place at approximately 1:45 PM on Saturday afternoon, October 9, 2010, near Apis Road and Wolf Creek Parkway.
According to reports, the driver of a red BMW sedan at a Temecula car wash surged forward leaving thee people injured, one critically. The driver has been identified as Aris Pepes, 59, of Temecula.
Rescue crews transported at least two victims to local hospitals where they were treated for injuries sustained in the freak accident. The critically injured victim has been identified as Richard Powell, 62, of Burbank.
“His condition is not good right now,” said Sgt. Joe Borja with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
It was unclear as to whether the car wash was damaged in the incident.
The Temecula auto accident is still under investigation by the Temecula Police Department. Authorities have indicated that they do not believe that alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.
