A South Los Angeles car accident involving an unlicensed driver has claimed the lives of three women after their sport utility vehicle (SUV) slammed into a tree. The incident took place on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
According to reports, six women were traveling in a SUV when the driver lost control of the vehicle and smashed into a tree. Five of the women were ejected from the SUV. Rescue crews transported all six victims to the hospital where they were listed in critical condition.
Unfortunately, three of the women died between the following Friday and Monday due to injuries sustained in the crash. They have been identified as 21-year-old Enisha Marie Davis, 19-year-old Chanae Jones, and 28-year-old Tiesha Jermaine Turner.
The driver has been identified as Tenina M. Calhoun of Moreno Valley. Ms. Calhoun, who remains in critical condition, was cited on January 3, 2012 by the California Highway Patrol for driving without a license.
The fatal South Los Angeles car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. Police indicate that an open container of alcohol was recovered at the accident scene.
