Oxnard Motorcycle Accident Claims the Lives of Two Women

An Oxnard motorcycle accident involving a Lincoln Town Car claims the lives of two women after their motorcycle was struck by the car. The incident took place at approximately 5:30 PM on Sunday, January 9, 2010, at Rice Avenue and Camino Del Sol.

According to local police, two women were traveling northbound on Rice Avenue on a motorcycle when their bike was struck by a Lincoln Town Car. The motorcycle was attempting to make a left turn onto Camino Del Sol when the car, which was traveling southbound on Rice, slammed into them.

A 22-year-old Oxnard woman, who reportedly died at the accident scene, had been driving the motorcycle. Rescue crews transported a 20-year-old Santa Paula woman, who was riding on the back of the bike, to Ventura County Medical Center. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the accident.

The driver of the Town Car was not immediately identified. It was unclear as to whether anyone in the car was injured in the two-vehicle wreck.

The Oxnard motorcycle accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Investigators have yet to determine if alcohol or speed played a roll in the fatal accident.
