Oxnard Motorcycle Accident Claims the Life of One

An Oxnard motorcycle accident involving two vehicles claims the life of a local man after a car attempts to make a U-turn in front of a motorcycle. The incident took place at approximately 1:15 AM on Saturday morning, January 15, 2011, on Harbor Boulevard just south of Gonzales Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Martin Robles, 20, of Oxnard, was traveling southbound on Harbor Boulevard when he pulled his car over onto the right shoulder of the road. Mr. Robles then attempted to make a U-turn into the northbound lanes when he collided with a motorcycle, also traveling southbound on Harbor.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Don Aron Delacruz, 34, also of Oxnard. Mr. Delacruz crossed the double-yellow lines in order to avoid Mr. Roble’s car. Unfortunately, he was unable to avoid the collision and was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

The fatal Oxnard motorcycle crash is still under investigation by local authorities. The CHP has indicated that they do not believe that neither speed nor alcohol contributed to the crash. Mr. Robles was not arrested.

This is a terrible tragedy and we would like to extend our thoughts and condolences to Mr. Delacruz’s family and friends during this difficult time.
