An Oxnard car accident involving three vehicles leaves at least two people injured and may have been caused by a medical problem. The incident took place at approximately 8:00 AM on Tuesday morning, along Victoria Avenue north of Channel Islands Boulevard.
According to Oxnard Traffic Officer Jason Coleman, the driver of a pickup truck lost consciousness causing him to veer into the path of a sport utility vehicle (SUV). The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as Humberto Moncada, 50, of Oxnard.
Rescue crews transported Moncada to St. John’s Regional Medical Center where he was treated for serious medical issues as well as a minor injury sustained in the accident. Investigators believe that a medical problem caused him to lose consciousness.
The force of the impact caused the SUV to collide with another car before rolling over. The driver of the SUV, Jody Campbell, 54, also of Oxnard, was taken to the hospital as well. Her injuries were described as minor.
The three-vehicle Oxnard auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
This is an unfortunate incident and we would like to extend our thoughts to those who have been affected by it. We wish all the victims a speedy recovery.
