According to San Diego CW 6 News, one bicyclist was killed and another seriously injured when an SUV went up an embankment and into the path of the bikers.
Why the driver of the SUV lost control of her vehicle remains uncertain, but authorities say that it occurred when she was trying to make a lane change while driving along Highway 56 near Carmel Valley Road.
The names of the bicyclists have not been released.
While the Southern California bicycle accident injury lawyers at Steinberg & Spencer encounter many such accidents, this one is especially horrendous, with unusual circumstances that were nearly impossible for the cyclists to avoid.
