Northridge Auto Accident Leaves 5 Injured

A Northridge car accident involving four vehicles leaves five people injured following a police chase that started in Calabasas. The incident took place at approximately 8:30 PM on Friday evening, December 10, 2010, at Nordhoff Street near Balboa Boulevard.

According to authorities, the incident began at approximately 8:00 PM in Calabasas when Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies gave chase to a suspected drunk driver.

The chase ended when the suspect’s car slammed into other vehicles in the 1700 block of Nordhoff Street, reported Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Rescue crews transported the unidentified suspect to a nearby hospital where he was placed under arrest. His condition was not immediately made known.

“He was pinned inside the car and was initially reported to be in critical condition, but it might be that he was just complaining of pain,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Andy Ross. “He is still being examined.”

Ross also reported that four other people involved in the accident suffered minor to moderate injuries.

The Northridge drunk driving accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
