Moorpark Car Accident Sends 7 to Local Hospitals

A Moorpark car accident involving three vehicles sends seven people to local hospitals after a driver hits the gas instead of the brakes. The incident took place at approximately 3:45 PM on Sunday afternoon, January 9, 2010, at Moorpark Road and Tierra Road.

According to officials, the accident occurred when an unidentified elderly woman mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brakes and slammed into the back of a second car at Moorpark Road and Tierra Road. The second car was carrying five people at the time of the incident. The force of the impact sent the second car into the rear of a third car, which, according to reports, had only one person in the car.

Rescue crews transported all seven victims to local hospitals where they were treated for injuries sustained in the three-vehicle accident. Details concerning the extent of their injuries were not made available. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported, said Capt. Mike De Los Santos of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

The Moorpark auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The identities of the victims involved in the crash were not immediately made known.
