Camp Pendleton's Base Safety Center offers different two-day, 15-hour courses to Marines who ride motorcycles.
While one of the classes is mandatory for all Marines who have recently purchased a motorcycle, it still helps the soldiers to learn about the different types of motorcycles, basic operation, and how to be a safer rider.
According to the Marine Corps' website, retired military, dependents, and contractors also are invited to take the course, space permitting. Taking a course on motorcycle safety can help reduce insurance premiums, in addition to making riders more aware of their new mode of transportation.
