A Manhattan Beach car accident involving two vehicles leaves three people injured after the two vehicles collide at a local intersection. The incident took place at approximately 9:30 AM on Saturday morning, September 11, 2010, at the intersection of Dianthus Street and Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
According to Redondo Beach Fire Department Interim Fire Chief Ken Shuck, a delivery truck and a car collided at the intersection. The force of the impact sent the truck into a pole at a nearby gas station.
Rescue crews transported a passenger in the truck to Harbor General Hospital in Torrance where he was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. Rescue crews had to use hydraulic equipment to remove the man when he became trapped beneath the dashboard. His condition was not made available.
Two other victims were also transported to local hospitals where they were treated for minor injuries. Their identities were not immediately made known.
The two-vehicle Manhattan Beach car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. It was unclear as to what caused the accident or who was at fault.
