A Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver leaves a father of three dead after he is struck by a dark-colored sedan in the downtown area. The incident took place at approximately 3:00 AM on Monday morning, March 29, 2010, on Alameda Street just south of 8th Street.
According to detectives, the unidentified 59-year-old man was hit by a car that was traveling northbound on Alameda Street. The driver then fled the accident site following the collision. Rescue crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
The hit-and-run vehicle has been described as a dark-colored sedan. They believe that the car might be a Nissan. Police have yet to locate the car and the fleeing driver. It was unclear if there were any witnesses to the crash.
The fatal Los Angeles auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The Los Angeles Police Department has asked anyone with information relating to the early morning downtown crash to contact authorities at (213) 972-2445.
