Hollywood Car Accident Claims Life of Camarillo Man

A Hollywood car accident involving seven vehicles claims the life of a Camarillo man and leaves at least one other person injured. The incident took place on Monday, January 31, 2011, along Highway 101 near Cahuenga Pass.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred when a pickup truck, driven by a 45-year-old woman, entered Highway 101 from Braham Boulevard and swerved into the path of another vehicle causing the two vehicles to collide. The driver of the second vehicle has been identified as a 77-year-old woman from Camarillo.

Sylvester Ray Martinez, 78, of Camarillo, was riding in the second vehicle at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, he lost his life due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck was also injured in the collision. The unidentified driver’s injuries were described as minor.

The crash resulted in three other collisions involving five vehicles. It was unclear as to whether anyone was injured in those additional crashes.

The fatal Hollywood auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
