Accidents Reported in Southern California

Garden Grove Truck Accident Leaves Pedestrian Injured

A Garden Grove truck accident leaves a female pedestrian injured after a commercial truck struck her as she was standing in her yard. The incident took place at approximately 11:00 AM on Friday morning, February 12, 2010, along Woodbury Road.

According to reports, Olga Quiroz, 36, of Garden Grove, was standing in her yard when the commercial truck hit several trees, a fence and a block wall before finally slamming into her. Quiroz was dragged underneath the truck until the vehicle finally came to a stop towards the back of the property.

Rescue crews transported Quiroz to a local hospital where she was treated for leg injures sustained in the accident. Her injuries included lacerations and fractures.

The driver of the truck has been identified as William Davis, 44, of Orange. Davis was not injured in the accident; however, neighbors had to hold Davis at the scene until police arrived. He was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.

It is also believed that Davis was involved in an earlier accident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in that collision.

The Garden Grove accident is still under investigation by local authorities.

This is an unfortunate incident and we wish Ms. Quiroz a speedy recovery.
