A Los Angeles pedestrian accident involving a driver for Jamie McCourt, former CEO for the Los Angeles Dodgers, leaves one person injured. The incident took place on Monday, September 20, 2010, in front of a downtown Los Angeles courthouse.
According to witnesses, the unidentified driver was backing out of a driveway on Hill Street near the courthouse when the 2010 Land Rover he was driving hit a female pedestrian. The woman was on the sidewalk when she was struck.
The driver had just dropped Mrs. McCourt off at the courthouse to testify in her well publicized divorce trial and therefore was not in the vehicle when the accident occurred. The driver was questioned by sheriff’s deputies.
Rescue crews placed the unidentified female victim in a neck brace before transporting her to a nearby hospital where she was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. The extent of her injuries was not immediately made known.
Witnesses have also indicated that the woman is an employee at the courthouse.
According to Mrs. McCourt’s attorney, the incident was “just a tap.”
The Los Angeles pedestrian accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
This is an unfortunate accident and we wish the victim a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
