A Costa Mesa pedestrian accident involving a single vehicle leaves a local man hospitalized after he is struck by a hit-and-run driver. The incident took place at approximately 11:45 PM on Thursday evening, May 13, 2010, in the 800 block of Baker Street.
According to Costa Mesa police, a 21-year old man from Irvine was discovered unconscious on Baker Street near the Shark Club. Rescue crews transported the unidentified man to Western Medical Center where he was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. His injuries include a possible concussion as well as some cuts and bruises. The victim was listed in stable condition.
Reports indicate that the driver stopped briefly after realizing that he struck the pedestrian, but then fled the accident scene. Police believe that the driver is an Asian male.
The Costa Mesa hit-and-run pedestrian accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The driver was reported as driving a white Toyota Camry with the following license plate number: 4NHD477. Police are still searching for the car and driver.
This is an unfortunate incident that left this pedestrian hospitalized. We wish him a speedy recovery during this difficult time and hope that the authorities locate the driver quickly.
