An Anaheim car accident involving two vehicles leaves one man hospitalized. The incident took place at approximately 2:15 PM on Tuesday afternoon, November 24, 2009 at the intersection of Broadway and Loara Street.
According to Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez, the two vehicles involved in the accident were identified as a black Chrysler Sebring and a green Hyundai Elantra. Martinez indicated that the driver of the Chrysler was heading eastbound on Broadway and collided with the Hyundai, which was traveling southbound on Loara Street. Both drivers have not been identified by authorities.
According to Martinez, the Chrysler hit the passenger side of the Hyundai. The force of the impact caused the Hyundai to hit a traffic signal on the southwest corner of the intersection.
He also reported that the male driver of the Hyundai was ejected from the vehicle. Rescue workers transported the victim to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he was treated for head trauma.
The female driver of the Chrysler also suffered injuries. Her injuries were described as moderate and she was taken to a nearby hospital.
The Anaheim accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The cause of the accident and who was at fault have not been identified.
The Anaheim Police Department has asked anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any pertinent information to call 714-765-1861.
