Tragic Corona Bicycle Accident Has Been Reported

In the midst of National Bike Month, when events have been planned throughout the area, a tragic story has been reported in Southern California.  According to reports, a man was killed in a Corona bicycle accident on Monday, May 10, 2010.

The deadly bicycle collision occurred at approximately 3:00 PM when the bicyclist was struck by a car.  Apparently, 55-year-old bicyclist, Alan Earl Miller from Costa Mesa was hit by an SUV that was traveling north on Temescal Canyon Road, near Indian Truck Trail, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

Mr. Miller was ejected from his bicycle upon impact.  He succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash, said Cal Fire/Riverside County fire officials.

Scott Reis, 42 of Corona, was driving the SUV at the time of the accident.  According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), he drifted off the road for some unknown reason.
 
The CHP is investigating the crash, but at this point no one has been arrested or cited in connection with the incident.  No other details were released regarding this horrific accident.

Our condolences go out to the family members and friends of Mr. Miller. This is an unfortunate event and we can only imagine the pain that they are feeling.
