An
Indio car accident involving a singe vehicle sends one person to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries. The incident took place at approximately 6:45 AM on Tuesday morning, April 27, 2010, at the intersection of Dr. Carreon Boulevard and Oasis Street.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, rescue crews discovered a victim trapped inside the vehicle when they arrived on the scene at Dr. Carreon Boulevard and Oasis Street. Special equipment was required to extricate the trapped victim from the car. No other details concerning the incident were available.
Rescue crews transported the unidentified victim to Desert Regional Medical Center where the victim was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. The injuries have been described as moderate. There were no other injuries reported as a result of the singe-vehicle accident.
Emergency crews were able to clear the accident scene by approximately 7:00 AM that morning allowing for the flow of traffic to resume to normal.
The early morning Indio auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. It was unclear as to what caused the accident or if there was anyone else involved.
